2024 in 12 Celebrity Weddings
When it comes to celebrity weddings, 2024 was a busy year: from January to December, everyone from Charlie Puth, to Karen Elson, to Alex Cooper shared their nuptials with Vogue. And the internet? They couldn’t get enough.
Their starry status was the initial draw, sure. But there were plenty of standout fashion moments too—Elson, for example, wore a custom beaded tulle Valentino gown by Alessandro Michele with blue accents. (“We talked about having a pop of color—would it be a green or a yellow?” she said. “And actually, I was like: ‘It should be a pop of blue somewhere,’ for the traditional ‘something borrowed, something blue.’”) Olivia Culpo, meanwhile, wore three different dresses by Dolce & Gabbana.
Danielle Frankel was a favorite among the famous: Call Her Daddy's Alex Cooper wore a drop-waist dress by the designer—“The minute I tried it on I knew we had found what I was looking for”—as did Puth's wife Brooke Sansone. “I wanted a designer who brought a fashion-forward, unconventional edge to bridal wear, and Danielle was the perfect fit,” she said.
And those are just the brides: 13 Reasons Why’s Brandon Flynn and playwright Jordan Tannahill walked down their New York City aisle in looks by Ludovic de Saint Sernin that were inspired by Robert Mapplethorpe’s famed “Flower” series.

Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan wed this April in Riviera Maya. The bride wore Danielle Frankel for her beachside ceremony and a vintage Alexander McQueen dress for her after-party. “The vibes were immaculate,” Cooper said of her wedding. “There were dance-offs, bottles being passed around, crowd surfing…and once again, I’m not a dancer, but there wasn’t a care in the world from anyone that night. Everyone was on cloud nine.”

13 Reasons Why actor Brandon Flynn and playwright Jordan Tannahill had the Downtown wedding to end all downtown weddings. They married at St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, a storied cultural site where Patti Smith performed her first punk songs and Sam Shepard produced his first play, wearing Ludovic de Saint Sernin. After a reception in the parish hall, it was off to nightclub Heaven Can Wait to party. “We joked that our years in the trenches of indie theater prepared us well for throwing a wedding,” Jordan says. “It often felt like we were planning to stage some big experimental performance, where the audience was everyone we love in the world. Ultimately, we wanted things to feel intimate and fun, and whatever didn’t feel authentic to us got thrown away.”

Actors Amber Anderson and Connor Swindells chose Boath House in the Scottish Highlands as the site of their wedding. The bride wore Vivienne Westwood for the Celtic ceremony. “As cheesy as it sounds, I just knew as soon as I tried it on,” she said. “My favorite parts of my body were accentuated, and the bits that I didn’t like didn’t really matter anymore, and I knew it would look good sitting down or standing up. The entire Vivienne Westwood approach is what appealed to me, that I shouldn’t change anything about myself to subscribe to a specific bridal look.”

Twilight and Grey's Anatomy actor Elizabeth Reaser wed high up on a hill at Hotel Caruso in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. She wore a pearl beaded dress by Danielle Frankel. "I think that’s when I turned into a ‘bride’ because suddenly I needed that dress,” Elizabeth said. With only three guests in attendance, it was an intimate wedding—but a day that Reaser will never forget. “It was so beautiful that we stopped at the end of the aisle and had an impromptu first dance. I think it may have been the purest moment of happiness in my life.”

“There are such beautiful things about a wedding—you get to celebrate something that is pure. It was so intimate and moving and joyful,” supermodel Karen Elson said of her wedding to Lee Foster at New York's Electric Studios. She wore a custom dress by Alessandro Michele for Valentino, which included celestial motifs. Jack Antonoff sang Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You in the End” as she walked down the aisle in front of guests like Linda Evangelista, Karlie Kloss, and Christy Turlington Burns.
