Lila Moss on Her Personal Style, Perfecting Her Runway Walk, and the One Thing She Can’t Steal from Her Mother’s Closet
Released on 03/01/2023
Kim Kardashian had actually come to watch the rehearsals
of the show and so she came backstage
and helped me take my boot off
which was a moment to say the least.
Hi, Vogue.
It's Lila Moss.
Today I'm bringing you with me to the Chloe show.
But before that, come get ready with me.
Come up my call times at nine 30.
Ah,
This is my first time walking in a Chloe show.
I'm so excited.
I've always been a big fan,
so this is a really special moment.
Yesterday we did a fitting for the show
and I got to meet Gabriela, which was really amazing.
She's really sweet.
One second,
[water splashes]
Before a show I love to do these 11Skin eye patches.
I also love doing them on planes.
Any like early morning or when I'm just feeling a bit tired
and they're golden and sparkly and cute.
[chill music]
I definitely have croissant all over my lips.
I prefer a Pain au chocolat to a plain croissant
anything with chocolate really is good for me.
This is asmr
[crunching]
Oh look, it's everywhere.
Crumbs in the bed, shhh
She's ready.
I'm gonna get dressed.
I like to wear
shoes with a little bit of a platform
because I probably will be the shortest girl
at the show today.
I didn't mean to match the vibe of the hotel
but I have to say I did a pretty good job blending it.
I'm drinking some English breakfast tea because I'm a Brit
at heart.
Even when in Paris.
one really funny backstage memory moment that I've had,
we were in Rome
for Fendi couture
and me and my mom were sharing a dressing room
and my boots were like really high leather
So they were like sticking to my leg and they were so
hard to get off
and Kim Kardashian had actually come
to watch the rehearsals
of the show and so she came backstage and helped me
take my boot off.
Which was a moment to say the least.
We're going to get a matcha.
Woo
Okay something I don't wish people knew about me is
that I haven't actually seen Harry Potter.
It's like a secret.
No. Like when I admit it,
it's like to people I really trust.
Fantasy, Fantasy, Especially fantasy books.
Not for me.
I'm a realist.
Can't do it.
When people first meet me and I have this out,
it like connects to my pod
and I control my insulin with it,
but I tell everyone it's a bat phone.
The only thing I'd heard about diabetes was
in Hannah Montana when Oliver gets diagnosed with diabetes.
That was my only like insight into it ever.
When they told me I was kind of just like
In shock I was just like,
I didn't, I don't even know what that means.
And then like the reality sets
in of like you're gonna have this forever
and you are like whoa, that's intense.
But honestly, I've come to live with it.
It's kind of fun.
Like I call myself a robot with all my little things.
Merci beaucoup.
It's sunny today,
yay.
Can I get a matcha of latte with almond milk please?
Thank you so much.
Souvenir.
My mom's advice is mostly that less is more.
I think makeup wise, outfit wise,
I think her other biggest thing is like
just being kind to everyone, be nice.
It's so funny because I would copy her outfits consistently
like always wearing black and gray, like skinny jeans
dressing like her.
And now I come out in like my outfits and she'll be like
oh my God, I'm so jealous.
You look so cute.
I'm like, it's all yours.
I steal.
I think mostly her bags,
this isn't hers
but I can't steal her shoes, which is devastating
because she's a size six and I'm a size five
and it's one of my biggest regrets.
I remember my first photo shoot, it was a cover for Days
with Tim Walker, which I thought was incredible
and I didn't actually tell anyone, but I'd been studying him
at school in photography and knew everything about
him and his work
and I was so nervous and my mom came with me
and I made her sit downstairs the whole time.
She wasn't allowed to watch.
I was just like secretly in my head being like,
oh my god, oh my god, Oh my god.
But he just made it come to life.
Even with like a frozen mannequin
Going to Center Pompidou.
Let's go.
Normally I'm a Google maps queen, but today I'm distracted.
Bonjour.
Lila Moss.
[upbeat music]
I got in my robe,
now we're ready to go get hair and makeup.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
Practicing
Massage.
This is how you make friends.
Yes.
We're doing a low ponytail off the Face.
A low pony is perfect.
Exactly.
My dad is attending the show, which is fun.
When I have my parents watching the show
it makes me wanna make them proud,
but it's also like more pressure I feel.
Sometimes they cheer and it distracts me and I'm like,
please don't do that.
But it's sweet, it's sweet.
Hi.
How are you?
I'm good, how are you?
[upbeat music]
So we're going into makeup.
I just got a little gift bag.
Do you live in London?
Yeah. Well I'm between London and New York.
Oh yeah, I'm in the West Village.
West Village, cool.
I love it.
Yeah, you have to have a good support group
or you just have to be really tough.
If you don't have a good support group
In New York you need like a good friend group
that's like ride or Die.
Yeah. I'm new to the scene in New York, so
You're still getting it.
Tips for me too, I need tips
So my makeup is done
and we're going to do a rehearsal with our heels.
Come with me
Please follow me.
I'm going to show you the walk,
follow the central path,
up until the end
everyone back in line up we're gonna start the rehearsal.
The last one, but don't stress do your walk
when you come back here. I will send you when you're back.
Okay. - Amazing.
Exciting news.
I'm closing the show.
I'm opening the finale as well, which is very fun.
So quick turnaround, but we're gonna make it work.
So this is where we come out,
keeping my shoulders back
remembering these stay centered
and walk the confidence.
These are the cameras that we'll get that runway photo
for vogue.com.
And that's it, I'm going to get my manicure done.
Do a air, mwah, mwah,
I think it's my Favorite.
Yeah, I want everything.
I want everything.
I want it straight from the runway to my closet.
I don't do torture shoes.
These are like the most comfortable shoes I've ever,
I don't like torturing women and I don't do torture shoes.
This is my final look and I'm so happy with it.
It's beautiful and I'm so happy to be closing the show.
And even better, I get to show off my pod on the runway.
[upbeat music]
[Upbeat music]
That's a wrap Vogue.
Thank you so much for following me
and my diary of a model.
It's Lila Moss.
Hope you enjoyed.
Shall I get one of these french flags?
That we can like follow,
Oh that would be cute
Just if you wanna quickly do it.
No, I'm crying.
Like the in Monte Carlo, the tall guide has a French flag.
Yeah, the giggle after everything you say.
Can you call it together?
Pretend I'm posting for my friends which I am,
but there's, yeah.
Do you think you were quite shy?
Yeah. I'm so shy.
