It’s been a big week for Kendrick Lamar, who won five awards—while perfecting the art of hater fashion—at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday night. And it’s not over yet: This weekend, he’s set to take the field at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans as Super Bowl LIX’s halftime act.

While many of us may feel, by now, like we know a bit too much about the 37-year-old rapper, thanks to his ongoing beef with Drake, Lamar’s longtime partner, Whitney Alford, has managed to stay mostly out of the spotlight. (Well, minus her recent cameo in the video for “Not Like Us.”)

So, who is Alford? Below, find everything you need to know about Kendrick Lamar’s longtime fiancée.

How did Kendrick Lamar and Whitney Alford meet?

Lamar and Alford met at Centennial High School in Compton, their Southern California hometown. They were reportedly friends first before they started dating.

When did Kendrick Lamar and Whitney Alford get engaged?

Lamar and Alford confirmed their engagement in 2015, with Lamar gushing about his bride-to-be in an interview with Billboard. “I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he said. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion—she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”

What do we know about Whitney Alford and Kendrick Lamar’s children?

Not much, to be honest, which is kind of nice in this wildly overexposed, Instagram-addled world we live in. Lamar and Alford welcomed their daughter Uzi in 2019 and their son Enoch in 2022. Both children appeared with their parents on the cover of Lamar’s 2022 album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers.
